Today's Rotten Tomato Gallery

A word for the wise: choose your words and ideas CAREFULLY!!

What happened to the Bahraini bloggers today? The feed was filled with dismal entries. Here is my pick for today's Rotten Tomato Gallery, which include the worst entries for today. Just to be fair, they are not listed in any particular order.

1. Rant: Female Attractiveness from emoodz
Interesting how the title is about female attractiveness, but the accompanying image is of some guy (could be the blog's author himself) teasing us in his designer undies. Someone needs to take it easy on his Mayor Arnold complex (yet another wonderful Republican). Remember, it's the girls who choose their men at the end of the day; they don't care what "manly men" have to say about their choices in partners.

2. Ali Bahar.. the Masterclass in Bahraini Music (1) from Yaqoob's Dome
Classic first line to attract readers.
Recently many of Bahrain’s local newspapers including Al-Watan and Akhbar Al-Khaleej have run articles about Ali Bahar’s latest crisis, being which that he has been in hospital for almost a month because he has Sickle blood cell disease better known in Bahrain as سكلر, contrary to rumours saying that he has HIV (WTF?)
I didn't know there were people who actually read Al-Watan, let alone that it still exists after some juicy scandal mentioned some of its employees in passing.

As for the "contrary to rumours", well, HIV is not the actual DISEASE. It causes a person's immune system to collapse, and so, Sickle cell disease is not something contrary to HIV. It could be one of its results. Or it could have existed before HIV (theoretically speaking, of course). I am no medic, so correct me if I am wrong.

Oh and one more thing; what's with the video choice? The guy sleeps with his guitar, takes it on rides to Adhari Park (I think) and watches his brand new guitar from Moon Store in Sooq Al-Manama spin around at deadly speeds with a grin on his face. More of a dry wet dream than anything worth being called master-class.

I am dreading Ali Bahar.. the Masterclass in Bahraini Music (2)!

3. PS3 Prices Drop in Bahrain from Redbelt
Ah, genius.
This is of course great news. Sony is doing exactly the suggestions I previously wrote in my March next gen forcast. They seems to be on the brink of a reform which can very much be very successful.
Yes, GIANT electronic companies take the time to scan your blog for suggestions on how to improve their business strategy. If they did, that would technically be theft. But if they didn't, don't be too disappointed.

I was wondering about how long it would take you to move from a seemingly (only seemingly) clever idea to actually post a direct critique to named bloggers.

I was going to say that it was about time that you wrote a real post, but I regret that this one actually barely amounts to an authentic post.

Did you run out of creativity and was left only with mild and dull critisism?

fuck off anon

Chick said...

Yes, I ran out of creativity because I am a boring person.

Anonymous said...

@chicks biggest fan: I will remain reserved with using profanity back at you, and I would suggest you calm down and go look up more words in the dictionary so as to expand your limited vocabulary.

@chick: You're answer makes absolutely no sense. And it only seems to me that it was not thought thoroughly, leaving me an impression that it was only an automatic response. You say that you ran out of creativity "because" you are a boring person. First, I was asking "whether you did or didn't" and not "why you did"; and second, the reason clause (being a boring person) does not reason the preceding statement (running out of creativity).

Before anyone goes on and present us with vulgar usage of vulgar language in defense of this blog, I would like to clarify a few things.

No one should get upset, getting on their high horse, because of my previous comment, for it is only what Chick is exactly (trying, I think) to do. That is, a critique, however quite honest and just from my part.

I am not against Chick, his/her blog, or its content. My critique is only a response to their's.

Chick, this cynicism-wrapped idea of yours is wonderful (and I only hope its not a result of some superiority complex), but if you (and your fans) are going to slander bloggers and name names then you ought to gracefully own up to the responses you get.

Finally, I only resort to posting anonymously for I do not wish to be your next "target". Also, I should make it clear that I am not the same anonymous person who commented on the previous post.

Have a good Friday.
@nonymous

Anon,
First of all I want to say i'm not the chick who wrote that entry. If you notice the blog's name, it indicates that there are more than one chick. The chick who wrote this entry will not be available to respond for a while (is my understanding) and I felt I needed to clarify some things.
We did not run out of creativity. Since we are different people, we just have different styles of writing and responding to the things we see on the blogsphere. We really do not have rules to how our posts should be: sometimes they will be an imitation of an exisiting blog, sometimes they will be blunt, and sometimes they might not be sarcastic at all. and by the way, not everything on this blog is making fun of other blogs (some of the ones I wrote are just observations in my life)
I think this adds an element of unpredictability, but if you consider this as "running out of creativity" well that is your opinion, and you are entitled to it.

First of all, thanks for passing by the Dome and found it worthy of linking it in your blog.

Sorry for hurting your feelings for calling HIV a disease as myself am not a medic like your good self. But thanks for the info though.

As for the music video choice, I personally like this video for numerous reasons, and in no specific order that the video was mostly shot in Adhari Park which like many Bahrainis of my generation have fond memories of. It also symbolizes his love for music and how he singlehandedly brought western instruments i.e. acoustic and electric guitars to the foreground of Khaleeji music when guitars used to be drowned behind the orchestras and 'Taras' and also integrated them into his music without it being alien. In addition I like this video because it has a simple and inventive idea behind it unlike the parades of bare skin and softcore porn we see in Arabic music vidz nowadays.

Anyways thanks for passing by once again and I'm off to write the second installment of the masterclass series. Please drop by again and maybe even leave a comment!

Cheers

Tiny side-note: Sickle cell anaemia is a genetic inherited abnormality of the blood. I'm no medic either but my mother is and she has said this before. Therefore, it's not possible for HIV to be a cause for sickle cell. But this is besides the point anyway.

Good post, as usual. You never disappoint.

Hi. This is Anonymous from the previous post. How are you doing on this wonderful friday?

I wanted to say three things:
first, again a pointless post with no reason other than harm and make fun of Bahraini bloggers with an apparent malicious intent to discourage the spontaneous care-free blogging phenomenon among Bahrain's youth. If you were infront of me right now I would kick you in the crotch men galb.

Second, Yagoob. If I were you I would not justify my post/my interests to the scum behind this blog. These people are not worthy of the time you spent writing the comment. If anything, it showed how polite you are (perhaps too polite for these animals).

Third, June. Stop encouraging him/her. On second thoughts, since your views are admittedly pure garbage, you are excused.

The jerk store called...
They're running out of YOU!

LOL

very entertaining.. i love the drama and i love how pissed people can get

Anonymous said...

Honestly Amal you should be the next target. I am sure it will not be difficult to find something from your jerk store.

@anon's "these animals":
yes of course we're all mammals.. unless you're plant, that's another case, daisy..

@anon's "jerk.. etc":
the over-used-tasteless-come-backs' store called.. they said they want you to shut up for you're a big embarrassment to them..

@yagoob:
i'm very proud of you and i truly appreciate the fact that you took our comments lightly.. thank YOU for dropping by.. (fyi from what i heard Bahar was admitted for rehab, source is his friend)

Anonymous said...

Alright first of all, I do not know what GP you see, but for sure next time you visit try and have him explain that Sickle Cell is a heredetery disease that can NOT be the result of being HIV positive or having AIDS.

Second of all, nice idea, except your choice of posts is mediocre, and you're critique lacks thought.

Anonymous said...

LOL chick. Are you trying to be funny with your pathetic attempt to reply to my comment with a supposedly witty remark

Yes we are "part of" the mammal classification but if you don't want to draw a distinction between say a pig who enjoys playing in and eating it's own feces and a human being who acts based on rational thoughts --atleast most of the time, then I am sure you don't mind being classified as a pig. Now go play and eat your shit you filthy pig.

@Amal

There is this theory about why people laugh when faced with anger. It boils down to this....

A person faces a situation where she feels insecure about her ability to defend her self or her point of view so she resorts to laughing as a defense mechanism --subconsciously announcing to the other party/parties her inability to engage in the argument.

@Anon:
I honestly believe that you shouldn't be wasting your time replying those clowns. They're just a bunch of kids with self esteem problems that have nothing better to do -- probably having blast now that they have people that reply them and stoop down to their level.

Give it a break whoever you are, it's totally not worth it..

Dear Chick,

As your grasp of Engli.. ermm.. ingileezy level, being... not that good, me write simple words. You no Understand wrong.

I did not mean, in my "tomatoed post" that Sony is reading my blog for inspirations. You are the only person I heard of who understood it that way.

I merly meant to express my delight that my forecast is going like I anticipated.

Ha? You got it now?
